Comments:

I've spent almost my entire career in the Construction Industry. For many years I worked for one of the oldest General Contractors in the United States, Fru-Con Construction, and left there after being Operations Manager for many years. I also was Vice President for Gundaker Commercial Group, constructing retail stores throughout the US and Puerto Rico. After retiring, I returned to work for a fun assignment on a major refinery expansion in Wood River, Illinois, where I was responsible for moving large fabricated modules and equipment, some as large as 1000 Tons, by barge, from the Gulf of Mexico to Wood River, and to their final destination on the site. Projects I have been associated with include major heavy construction of bridges and dams, power plants, high-rise offices, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, chemical plants and heavy industrial manufacturing plants.

[2002]
I married my “first wife” Sandy Wild, in 1966, and we have been together now almost forty-six years and in 2021 moved from Swansea to Georgia. We have two children both boys: Rod, born in 1970, and Jeff, born in 1973. Rod is married and living in Georgia and Jeff is single and also lives in Georgia, and we have three grandsons, Tim, Nick and Austin.

I received an Associates Degree from BJC (BAC, now SWIC), in 1966.

I am the third generation of my family to be in the construction business, and my sons have followed suit. I have been fortunate in my career to have played a significant role in a number of major projects, including Jefferson Barracks Bridge, St. Louis Children’s’ Hospital, Bank of America Building, Southwestern Bell Data Center, and numerous Power Plants, Locks and Dams, Pharmaceutical Facilities, Food Plants and Industrial Plants.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, boating with my family, water skiing, snow skiing, scuba diving, hunting, fishing and collecting what my wife says is JUNK.

Kenny and I had several classes together at BTHS and bummed around some. I remember cruising on Main Street in the Thunderbird he had - great fun. Didn't have a lot of contact with him over the years after he came back from his service in the Army, but would see him on occaision here and there. RIP old friend!

I had several classes with Bob in school and over the years we have crossed paths several times. It was  always a pleasure to talk with him. It's sad to think that we won't be doing that again, he will be missed. My sympathy to his family.
