Floyd graduated from SIU in 1971. He was in the Air Force from 1966-1969. Since College he has been in sales-selling calculators, baby pictures, stationery, cars, and video games.

His hobbies include chess, basketball, tennis and racquetball. He has traveled most of the U.S., Thailand, Mexico, and Quebec.
