[2012]
Not much has changed since the 40th Reunion. I retired after 38 years of worldwide job with the U.S. Army. Still enjoying the sun and fun of Florida but real estate values have gone in the toilet, with foreclosures everywhere. Survived the 18 1/2 inches of rain in 3 days last week and hope and pray Florida does not blow off the map this year.
[2002]
I moved away from Belleville in 1968, and became a world traveler, traveling around the world several times over with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I enjoy the relaxing lifestyle living in Florida, after having lived in Japan, Israel, Germany and Korea.
I married a widow with 2 small children in Korea, and now those 2 children are in college and my wife and stepchildren successfully completed the enormous paperwork necessary to become citizens. So many people I worked with died very young, some in the office, so I retired one year ago.
Since my wife owns a business and this time of year is the profit time, I will miss the reunion. Having walked the crowded halls of BTHS West, I feel very sad the school will soon be empty. Having supervised construction around the world for 38 years, the new BTHS West will not last as long nor be as ornate as the old one. I am curious, as to which politician will benefit from the sale of the old high school.
Have a good time!
